College Track
This mural seeks to empower the underserved youth in Boyle Heights through the College Track after-school program. The mural on the Roosevelt High School campus depicts a landscape of Hollenbeck Park that reveals the silhouette of a student's head filled with dreams and knowledge. The tree growing from the student's mind symbolizes a brain branching into STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The mural celebrates the students' potential to achieve college success, defying a history of redlining in the neighborhood and encouraging College Track participants to cultivate their minds and reach for opportunities through higher education.
